As the sun begins to dip behind the shoreline of Mullet Lake, the water comes alive with the sights and sounds of Old Florida. Paddle around the lake’s 55-acre, calm waters, with blooming purple hyacinths, American lilies, and towering native vegetation while a large variety of birds soar overhead. Keep your eyes open for great blue herons, snowy egrets, sandpipers, killdeer, chimney swifts, and bald eagles, often spotted nesting nearby. As dusk settles, the golden evening light reflecting off the lake creates a peaceful atmosphere that feels worlds away from the everyday rush.
