Please proceed to the designated Pickup/Meet-up Mad Monkey Hanoi Lobby – 9:00 AM.
DAY 0 – WELCOME DAY 9:30 AM – Depart from Mad Monkey Hanoi via comfy cabin bus for the 7-hour ride to Ha Giang City. Quick pit stop along the way for snacks or last-minute buys. ETA: 3:30–4:00 PM (Vietnam time is more “ish”). On arrival, meet the crew, chill by the pool with a beer, and enjoy local bites — the real adventure starts tomorrow. DAY 1 – RISE & EXPLORE Fuel up with breakfast and coffee, then hit the road at 8:30 AM to Pác Sum Pass for epic views. Hike and swim at Khau Làn Waterfall. Next: Quán Ba Heaven Gate, lunch in Tam Son, then cruise across the Dông Hà suspension bridge and Thai An route. Grab a coffee in Lüng Hö before arriving in Du Già Valley. Check in, take a dip, catch the sunset, and cap the day with a local family dinner — plus a few shots of happy water (spicy hydration!).
DAY 1: (~100km) Ha Giang – Du Gia (B,L,D) Begin your adventure with breakfast at 7:30 am, then hit the road at 8:30 am. Travel along winding paths to Bac Sum Pass, where sharp turns and stunning views await. Discover a newly opened route, a hidden gem since the pandemic, offering spectacular landscapes. Depending on weather, take a 700-meter trek to swim at Khau Lan Waterfall. Next, visit a coffee shop with panoramic views at Heaven’s Gate, then hike to a viewpoint to enjoy the Fairy Hills and Tam Son’s rice fields and mountains. Afterward, enjoy lunch in Tam Son at noon. In the afternoon, cycle past Duong Thuong Village, home to the H’mong people. Reach your destination by late afternoon and conclude the day with dinner at a local homestay, featuring the North's famous "Happy Water" beer. Plus unlimited beer for one hour!
DAY 2 — DEEP DIVE INTO CULTURE & NATURE OPTION 1 We’re taking the scenic backroads through Red Dao and Nung villages, heading to Ban An stream for a chilled-out bamboo raft ride. After that, it’s time to level up — we hit Ma Pi Leng Pass (yep, the iconic one), climb for panoramic views, and brave the Skywalk if you’ve got the guts. We’ll spend the night nearby — because this kind of beauty deserves more than a drive-by. OPTION 2 First stop: an old French military post (think: history with a view), then coffee overlooking terraced rice fields and mountain peaks. Lunch is in Meo Vac, followed by a boat ride down the Nho Que River and a float through the dramatic Tu San Alley. We’ll end the day cruising the Ma Pi Leng Pass — also known as the Road of Happiness, but it’s the views that’ll really mess you up (in the best way). Overnight stay in the area. Both routes end with an overnight stay & another hour of unlimited beer!
DAY 3 — UNCOVER HIDDEN GEMS We start the day heading southeast toward the Vietnam–China border — where your guide will drop some wild stories and local lore. Stop at Thien Huong village before hiking up to the Lung Cu Flag Pole for serious views (and the photo to prove it). Lunch is served in Lolo Chai, a village of H’mong clay houses, before we visit the H'mong King’s Palace and the iconic Tham Ma Pass. One last coffee stop at Can Ty Pass, then it’s on to Nam Dam village for dinner and your final night in the mountains.
We kick off the day with a 4km hike to Lung Khuy Cave — expect around 326 calories burned (or at least enough to justify a big lunch after). The trail winds through wild karst landscapes sitting 850–1100m above sea level. Inside the cave? Total silence, broken only by the slow drip of water echoing through ancient rock. After the hike, we head to Quan Ba District for a final lunch with a view — then it’s back to Ha Giang for the journey back to your free night at Mad Monkey Hanoi.
