My name is Abselam, founder of Mystery Land Ethiopia Tour, and I personally designed this experience to offer travelers an authentic and unforgettable journey through Southern Ethiopia. Unlike standard tours, this 3-day adventure combines wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and meaningful cultural encounters in one immersive experience. Travelers explore the beauty of Arba Minch, enjoy a scenic boat trip on Lake Chamo to see giant Nile crocodiles and hippos, visit Nech Sar National Park, hike through the stunning Gamo Highlands, and discover the unique traditions of the Dorze people, famous for their bamboo houses, weaving culture, and traditional dances. The journey also includes a visit to the UNESCO-listed Konso Cultural Landscape, where travelers learn about ancient terraced farming systems, traditional beliefs, and the remarkable lifestyle of the Konso community. This is more than a tour — it is a chance to experience the real Ethiopia with passionate local experts.

In the morning , head to the shores of Lake Chamo for a private boat cruise. This lake is famous for the "Crocodile Market," a stretch of shore where some of Africa's largest Nile crocodiles bask in the sun alongside massive pods of hippos. Keep your camera ready for spectacular birdwatching, including African fish eagles, pelicans, and kingfishers set against the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment.
Start your afternoon with a refreshing, guided nature walk through the lush, verdant groundwater forest that gives Arba Minch its name ("Forty Springs"). Walk beneath a dense canopy filled with vibrant birdlife, and watch for playful Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, and Anubis baboons. You'll visit the crystal-clear natural springs bubbling up from the earth and can even opt for a refreshing dip in the spring-fed pool.
Morning: After breakfast We drive to crocodile ranch Visit the Arba Minch Crocodile Ranch – Discover one of Ethiopia’s largest crocodile farms, where you can observe these fascinating reptiles up close and learn about conservation efforts.
Dorze Village & Dorso Waterfall Ascend high into the Gughe Mountains to the mist-shrouded village of the Dorze people. Begin with a gentle 25-minute scenic hike to the beautiful Dorso Waterfall, passing through local farms. Afterward, immerse yourself in the village: marvel at their towering, organic, elephant-shaped bamboo houses (which can last for generations) and watch master weavers create vibrant cotton textiles. You will taste traditional kocho (bread made from the false banana plant) and cap off the afternoon with an energetic, joyous traditional dance performance by the community.
The Ancient Stone Terraces of Konso Konso Village & "Konso New York" Morning Travel south to the UNESCO World Heritage region of Konso. The Konso people are world-renowned for their sophisticated stone-walled terracing, which has sustained their rugged hillsides for over 400 years. Explore one of their fortified hilltop villages, learn about their generation poles, and discover the sacred waka—carved wooden statues erected to honor brave ancestors. Afterward, witness the breathtaking natural canyon known locally as "Konso New York," where wind and rain have sculpted spectacular, towering earth pyramids out of the pink-hued soil.
Final Morning & Departure Drop-off at Arba Minch Airport Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your lodge, soaking in the final views of the Rift Valley lakes. Depending on your flight schedule, your driver will transfer you seamlessly back to Arba Minch Airport for your domestic connection to Addis Ababa.
