We begin the walk in the Andorra Valley, we will walk through a peat bog and border the river. These wetlands today are RAMSAR sites, internationally protected environments. Here we learn to interpret the place and its surroundings, being privileged to be there as protagonists.
Upon entering the native Andean Patagonian forest, the ascent begins, where steep slopes are combined with flat sections. The terrain is mountainous, so depending on the weather there may be mud, snow or the trail may be dry.
The forest tells us the story of axemen who decades ago exploited the place and its resources. The climb lasts 2:30 hours and it is important to maintain a constant pace.

What to expect
It is an activity of medium difficulty, for which you need good physical condition, you do not need to be an athlete but if you can maintain a pace that is constant.
Once the climb is finished we reach the lagoon of the floes where you can see the glacier in the background.
The glacier is in retreat so you always see different formations in the ice.
During the winter months, the ice caves give us a unique and magical spectacle. When spring arrives, we continue to visit the front wall of the glacier and, snow permitting, the ice appears in all its glory. The lagoon becomes a changing setting, where snow, water and ice mix in celestial and turquoise tones that mesmerize the gaze. With the thaw, the landscape is transformed every day. From this station we no longer enter the caves, because their interior becomes unstable and dangerous.
During the summer season when all the snow melts from the mountain, we do a mini glacier trek with Grampones
