    Nikko Tosho-gu

We’ll start our adventure by meeting at a designated point in Tokyo before taking the train to Nikko. Please note that this private day trip will involve walking and public transportation, allowing us to explore Nikko at its most authentic. Our first stop upon arriving in Nikko will be the Sannai area, a tranquil haven where temples and sanctuaries harmonize beautifully with the surrounding natural landscape. Next, we’ll visit the magnificent Toshogu Shrine, the final resting place of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first Shogun of the Tokugawa Clan. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to awe-inspiring features, including intricately decorated torii gates, a five-story pagoda, and famous carvings such as the Three Wise Monkeys, the Crying Dragon, and the Sleeping Cat.

    Taiyu-in Temple Niomon

We’ll continue to the Taiyua Temple, a serene and picturesque location that serves as the burial site of Tokugawa Iemitsu, the grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu and the man behind the construction of the Toshogu Shrine.

    Shinkyo Bridge

A visit to Nikko wouldn’t be complete without stopping at the iconic Shinkyo Bridge (Sacred Bridge). The vibrant red hue of this historic structure stands in striking contrast to the lush greenery that surrounds it, making it a perfect spot for photos and reflection. After exploring, you’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch at your own pace and browse for unique souvenirs. While lunch is optional, we’ll take a short 30-minute break to allow our guide to recharge before concluding the tour. Finally, we’ll begin our return journey back to Tokyo, wrapping up this unforgettable experience approximately 9 hours after we set out.
