Meeting and pickup
We take you to Pico do Areeiro, where you can enjoy a self-guided hike, passing Ninho da Manta, the famous Stairway to Heaven and the highest peak in Madeira - Pico Ruivo.
After the hike, we will pick you up at Achada do Teixeira and take you back to the original pickup point.

It is essential to respect the recommended timing for each section, especially the timing indicated by the driver, as other participants may be traveling on the same service. Failure to respect the agreed schedule may result in the vehicle departing without you.

What to expect
After booking, you will receive the relevant information regarding your pickup location and departure time. At the agreed time, we collect you from your selected pickup point and transport you to Pico do Areeiro, the starting point of the PR1 trail.
Once at Pico do Areeiro, you can begin your self-guided hike towards Pico Ruivo and Achada do Teixeira. The route takes you through some of Madeira’s most spectacular mountain scenery, including Ninho da Manta, the famous “Stairway to Heaven”, and Pico Ruivo, the highest point in Madeira.
The hiking activity is undertaken independently and without a guide accompanying the walk. You are free to complete the route at your own pace, subject to the official trail conditions and access restrictions.
At the end of the service, the transport arrangement concludes at the designated drop-off point, according to the option selected when booking.
Please follow the recommended schedule and any instructions provided by the driver regarding the transport service. As this is a shared transport service, other participants may be traveling with you. Failure to respect the agreed pickup or departure time may result in the vehicle departing without you.
