Key West Private Celebration of Life Memorial Charter

3 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

Your family is the only group aboard - this is never a shared or attended scattering, where ashes go out with a stranger's. A USCG-licensed local captain plans the ceremony with you by phone beforehand: the readings, the music, who will scatter, and anyone who needs extra care. Offshore he shuts the engine down and the time is yours, for as long as you need it, past the three-nautical-mile line federal rules require. Six Fins files the EPA burial-at-sea notice afterward so you are not left with paperwork. Best suited to families and small groups up to six who want an unhurried, dignified service on calm turquoise water, including elderly guests and children - there is shade, seating, and a private head aboard. Departs Stock Island with free parking steps from the dock.

A note on our photos: at families' request, our images show the boat and local waters only - never memorial guests or ceremonies.

What to expect

Say goodbye on the water, with no one aboard but your family.

A private three-hour Celebration of Life charter in Key West: one family, one boat, one ceremony. Never a shared or attended scattering.

Beforehand your captain calls to plan the day with you - where to go, what is read, the music, who will scatter, and anyone who needs extra care.

You board dockside at the Perry Hotel & Marina on Stock Island, with free parking steps from the boat. You idle out past the shrimp fleet, then run through turquoise flats and mangrove islands, often with dolphins alongside, as your captain picks the calmest water of the day.

Offshore, past the three-nautical-mile line federal rules require, the engine shuts down and the boat goes silent. The time is then yours for as long as you need it: readings, a prayer, music over the Bluetooth stereo, flowers on the water, the scattering itself. Your captain can lead the moment or stand back entirely.

Afterward nobody hurries you back to the dock. Sit quietly, tell stories, or swim. There is a shaded cabin, a private head aboard, bean bag seating, and cold water on ice.

Six Fins files the EPA burial-at-sea notice for you.
