Your experience begins with a short introduction to the cultural and historical background behind Korea’s traditional music. You’ll learn about some of the key concepts that shaped Korean musical traditions and discover what makes Gugak different.
Next, visit the Korean Traditional Music Museum. See traditional instruments up close, learn how different forms of music developed over time, and connect what you see with the cultural background introduced earlier.
As the museum tour is provided by the museum, other visitors may join this portion of the experience in addition to our group.
Finally, take your seat for a live Gugak concert featuring a varied program of traditional Korean music. A typical performance includes around six to seven pieces, offering a chance to experience different instruments, musical styles, and ensemble traditions.
