What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Meet your guide outside Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple, directly in front of Exit 1 of Tsukiji Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. Please wait near the station exit. Before the tour, your guide will send you a message with a photo of the exact meeting point.
The tour ends at Tokyo Station's historic Marunouchi red-brick facade, ideally positioned for onward travel — JR lines, the subway, and airport train connections are all easily accessible from here.

1Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple
We meet at Tsukiji Station and begin two minutes away at one of Tokyo's most distinctive temples, known for its striking architecture inspired by ancient Indian Buddhist design. Learn why it looks so different from most Japanese temples, and how its followers filled in the sea to build the ground this district stands on.

2Tsukiji Jogai Market
A five-minute walk from the temple takes us into the market. Explore the lively lanes of Tsukiji with your guide, discover the ingredients used in Japanese kitchens, and stop for an optional bite along the way. Tastings are paid at each stall as you go.

3Kabukiza Theater
We walk ten minutes out of the market to Tokyo's most famous kabuki theatre. Admire the exterior and learn about this dramatic art form, its elaborate costumes, and the traditions that have entertained audiences for centuries.

4Ginza
A five-minute walk from the theatre brings us onto Chuo-dori, Ginza's main avenue. Stroll Tokyo's most elegant shopping district, where historic department stores and long-established shops stand alongside contemporary architecture, and see the landmark Wako clock tower at the Ginza crossing.

5The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace - Edo Castle Ruin
A twenty-minute walk from Ginza, past the Wadakura moat, brings us to the Otemon Gate. Walk through the former heart of Edo Castle and see its massive stone walls, the old keep foundation and the quiet Ninomaru Garden. The gardens close on Mondays and Fridays, when we visit the Outer Gardens and the Nijubashi bridges instead.

6Tokyo Station Marunouchi Ekimae Hiroba
A fifteen-minute walk out of the gardens brings us to the beautifully restored red-brick Marunouchi side of Tokyo Station, where the tour ends. Learn the story behind one of the city's most photographed buildings and take a few last photos. JR lines, the subway and the airport trains are all right here.

- IMPERIAL PALACE ROUTE: The Imperial Palace East Gardens are normally closed on Mondays and Fridays and may occasionally close for Imperial events. On closure days, the tour will visit the Imperial Palace Plaza and Nijubashi Bridge instead. The tour duration will remain the same.
- TSUKIJI MARKET ON WEDNESDAYS: Many shops at Tsukiji Outer Market are closed on Wednesdays. Some shops remain open, and your guide will adjust the route to visit the best available spots. Please note that the market may be quieter and food options may be more limited.
