Experience a real full-day trekking adventure in the Andes with an ascent to Cerro El Pintor, one of the best high-altitude hikes near Santiago. The day begins with pickup in Santiago and a scenic drive to La Parva, where the trek starts.
From there, you will follow a progressive ascent through high-mountain terrain, with wide views of valleys, glaciers, ridgelines, and iconic peaks of the central Andes. If weather, snow, trail conditions, and the group’s pace allow, the objective is to reach the summit area of Cerro El Pintor, above 4,000 meters.
This tour is designed for active travelers with good physical condition who want a challenging but accessible mountain experience in a single day. In winter, snow may add an even stronger alpine atmosphere.
The route, pace, and final objective may be adapted by the guide for safety. The summit is the main goal, but it is not guaranteed.
We offer pickup from hotels, apartments, or an agreed meeting point within Santiago. Please provide your exact pickup address when booking.
The day before the tour, we will contact you to confirm the final pickup time, guide details, and any important updates related to weather or mountain conditions.
Your guide will meet you at the main entrance or lobby of your accommodation. If your location is outside our regular pickup area, we will coordinate the closest convenient meeting point with you in advance.
On the way back to Santiago, we pass through Farellones, a small mountain village in the Andes known for its alpine atmosphere and views of the surrounding peaks. Depending on the schedule, weather conditions, and group preference, we may make a short stop here after the hike to use the restrooms and, if available, enjoy a beer or a warm drink before continuing the return drive to Santiago.
La Parva is the starting point of our mountain hike. After the drive from Santiago, your guide will help the group get ready, review the route, check clothing and equipment, and give a short safety briefing before beginning the trek. From this area, we start walking into the Andes toward Cerro El Pintor or a suitable mountain viewpoint, depending on weather, snow, trail conditions, and the group’s pace.
Cerro El Pintor is the main objective of the hike and one of the most scenic high-altitude viewpoints near Santiago. During the ascent, travelers will walk through Andean mountain terrain with wide views of the surrounding peaks, valleys, and, in winter, possible snow-covered landscapes. If weather, snow conditions, and the group’s pace allow, we will continue toward the summit area of Cerro El Pintor. From there, travelers can enjoy panoramic views of the central Andes before starting the descent back toward La Parva.
