The Daikoku Parking Area in Daikoku Futo, Yokohama, is one of these places, and it's known as one of the most famous car meet spots in the world. The Rainbow Bridge's lighting was designed with the city's appearance in mind. The goals were to make the area safer, to make its evenings and public spaces more usable, and to give Tokyo's forward-looking Waterfront Subcenter a signature landmark. The lights are electrodeless lamps, which last a long time, use little energy and shine very brightly. It was also the first bridge in the world to use three-color lighting. At night, its white-lit main towers contrast with the changing colors on the cables, lighting up Tokyo Bay beautifully.
At 333 meters, Tokyo Tower is the second-tallest structure in Japan. Its lattice design was inspired by the Eiffel Tower, and it's painted white and orange to meet aviation safety rules. Completed in 1958, the tower is one of Tokyo's major tourist attractions. More than 160 million people have visited since it opened.
Shibuya Scramble Crossing, in Tokyo's Shibuya district, is famous for its crosswalks, one of which runs diagonally through the middle of the intersection. It sits in front of the Hachikō Exit of Shibuya Station. The lights stop vehicles in every direction at once, giving pedestrians 55 seconds to cross safely. Between the station and the crossing stands the statue of Hachikō the dog, a popular meeting spot that's almost always crowded.
