What to expect

Skip the tourist-trap wine tours. Agüita is a small independent wine bar tucked into Carrer de la Volta d'en Colomines, a quiet lane in El Born, five minutes from the Picasso Museum.

Over about 1 hour 45 minutes, Joan — Agüita's founder and a certified sommelier, featured in Time Out Barcelona — pours you a welcome glass of cava followed by 4 Spanish wines from small, independent producers, served side by side as a comparative "wine flight." Groups are capped at 12 guests, so every tasting stays personal and every question gets answered.

Why side by side? Because that's how you actually learn. Moving between glasses of Monastrell, Garnacha, Graciano or Mencía from different Spanish regions, you'll taste for yourself how soil and climate — the famous "terroir" — change a wine more than the grape itself. Joan shares tasting notes, producer stories and zero snobbery throughout.

Every tasting includes a cheese board, bread with olive oil, and a surprise final pour we won't spoil here. Vegan bites, gluten-free bread and non-alcoholic wine for non-drinking companions are available — just let us know when you book.

Fall in love with a bottle? We ship to your hotel or internationally.
