- Biryong Falls — Forest, Stream & Recovery

Arrive and meet at Mt. Seorak Seorakdong Visitor Center.
(Visitor Centre → Sinheungsa Temple 20mins) Your day begins at Korea's oldest Zen Buddhist temple, founded during the Silla era and rebuilt in the 17th century.
(Sinheungsa Temple → Rocking Rock 40mins) Midway up the trail, a legendary boulder the size of a house sits perfectly balanced on the mountainside. Touch it and it moves — yet it has never fallen.
(Rocking Rock → Steep Staircase Trail → Ulsanbawi Rock Summit 1hr, Rest time 30mins)The final push is relentless — steep deck stairs, steel railings, and burning calves — but the reward is immediate. At the top, the entire East Coast opens up: Sokcho city below, the East Sea stretching to the horizon, and Seoraksan's granite peaks rising in every direction.
(Descent 1hr 30mins, Lunch Time & Sinheungsa 1hr) Back at the temple after the summit, sip a free cup of tea at the traditional teahouse, write your wishes on a roof tile as part of a centuries-old offering ritual, or stamp your National Heritage Visitor Passport as a keepsake of the day.
The afternoon takes on a completely different rhythm. A gentle forested trail follows a mountain stream, crosses a suspension bridge mid-route, and ends at one of Seoraksan's most beautiful waterfalls deep in the valley. The flat riverside rocks at the base are perfect for sitting, resting, and cooling tired feet in the cold mountain water.
