No two tours with us are the same! Our guides craft itineraries that reflect the best of what the Park has to offer that day, including group interests and dynamics. Please note that the itinerary outlined is a sample of potential destinations that could be included in the tour.
Experience Mount Rainier's highlights on a 2 day tailored to you. Our TripAdvisor "Hall of Fame" guides run the only tours permitted to explore more than a mile from the park road as the National Park is ecologically important & delicate. The U.S. Park Service restricts other tour companies - our competitors offer "road tours." We are professional nature educators (not just bus drivers) that have dedicated our lives to artful travel. Our all-inclusive small-group trip is limited to just 9 travelers.
If you're staying in downtown Seattle (hotel, AirBNB, rental, etc), we'll pick you up! If you're unsure whether your hotel or rental is part of our legal Downtown pick up zone, give us a call and we can confirm whether your hotel is included! We'll call/text/email you the afternoon of the day prior to the trip to arrange a specific time at your accommodation.
This is our default meeting location for those staying outside of our Downtown Seattle pick up zone.
We'll pick you up from your Downtown Seattle hotel or Airbnb! Once we finish all the pickups, we'll head towards the Mountains!
We'll head straight towards the Mountain! Keep your eye on the scenery outside the windows, you may start to see Rainier peek out as we leave the city.
After a quick bathroom/coffee stop along the way, we'll enter the National Park! The next 2 days will be spent exploring its natural wonders.
Our main destination for today is Sunrise. At 6,400 feet in elevation, this is the highest a vehicle can reach on the Mountain. A plethora of trails depart from the Visitor Center, and we'll set out to explore!
When we've finished exploring Sunrise, we'll hop back into the van for a drive to the south side of the Mountain. Stunning backdrops abound along this route!
We'll reach Mt Rainier's south side and climb back up to Paradise. At slightly lower elevation than Sunrise, Paradise is home to your accommodations for the night - the historic Paradise Inn, where we'll also eat dinner after settling into your room.
Hike straight out of the door of Paradise Inn and onto the southern slopes of Mt Rainier. Journey up to see the Nisqually Glacier and the peaks of the Tatoosh Range all around you. Share the meadows with talkative marmots, and marvel at the spire-like firs that dot the mountainside.
Paradise is home to a world-class visitor's center with interpretive information on the National Park.
Several waterfalls are accessible by foot along the route up the mountain! Narada Falls is one of our favorites.
Bubbling springs, massive old-growth spruce trees, walking trails, a museum, and restrooms make up this historic area of Mount Rainier National Park.
Giant old-growth spruce trees clustered around bubbling mineral springs and views of Mt. Rainier's peak make this one of the most memorable short trails in the National Park.
