    Hachikō was a loyal Akita dog who waited for his owner at Shibuya Station every day. Even after his owner passed away, Hachikō kept coming back to this spot for almost 10 years. Today, he is a symbol of loyalty and one of Tokyo's most famous meeting places.

    Gotokuji Temple

    Gotokuji is a Buddhist temple, and is widely recognized as the birthplace of the lucky cat. According to legend, the temple’s cat raised its paw to gesture toward a passing samurai, which led to the samurai's good fortune and the temple.

    The Gotokuji Shopping Street is a shopping street located between Gotokuji Station, known as "Cat Town," and Gotokuji Lucky Cat Temple. Many of the shops display Maneki-neko (lucky cats), and we can enjoy cat-themed item store as well as cat sweets modeled cats.
