7:00–7:30 AM: Pick-up from your hotel or Airbnb in Hanoi Old Quarter. If you are staying outside the Old Quarter, please meet us at 20 Hang Muoi Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. From there, enjoy a comfortable drive of approximately 1.5 hours to Quang Phu Cau Incense Village, a traditional craft village famous for its colorful incense-making workshops and photogenic local scenery.
Quang Phu Cau Incense Village: See local artisans making and drying colorful incense under the sun, with great photo opportunities. Please note: If it rains, visit Bat Trang Pottery Village instead. Explore the ceramic-making process and try making your own pottery piece with an instructor.
Before 11:30 AM: Arrive at Hanoi Train Street and get ready to take photos and videos as the train passes through. Enjoy a local lunch featuring Banh Mi and Bun Cha, two of Hanoi’s famous street foods.
Afternoon: Visit Hoa Lo Prison, also known as Maison Centrale or the “Hanoi Hilton,” and learn about its history, including its use during the colonial period and the Vietnam War.
Temple of Literature: Visit Vietnam’s first university, dating back to the 11th century. Discover Confucian traditions and Vietnamese education while admiring the Khue Van Pavilion and stone stelae resting on turtle statues.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & Ba Dinh Square: Visit the exterior of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam’s independence on September 2, 1945.
West Lake & Tran Quoc Pagoda: Drive to West Lake and visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of Vietnam’s oldest pagodas, to learn about Buddhism and its role in Vietnamese culture. End the tour by enjoying Hanoi’s famous egg coffee.
