Hunt the northern lights with a vehicle and dedicated English-speaking guide reserved for your group alone. Depending on group size you travel in a comfortable sedan or minivan, picked up door to door from a single address at your Reykjavík accommodation. The hunt lasts 4 hours: your guide follows cloud cover and aurora forecasts through the evening and drives wherever the chance of a sighting is highest.
Time for long exposures, breaks for the kids, or simply quiet watching. Hot chocolate and bottled water are served on board, and your guide helps with camera settings.
Aurora sightings cannot be guaranteed, and even a faint but visible display counts as a sighting - real auroras are often subtler than the edited photos online. If no lights are seen, you get a free retry at the nearest available date; a retry may run in a different vehicle or as a small-group tour.

Meeting and pickup
Your driver will arrive about 5 minutes early at your selected pick-up address.
No need to call in advance – our drivers have your phone number and will reach out if needed.
If external factors (traffic, road closures, weather) require it, we reserve the right to adjust the pick-up time; any change will be consulted and agreed with you first.

Your private vehicle picks you up directly from your Reykjavík accommodation at the agreed time. No transfer, no assembly point - the tour starts from your front door. Pickup time will be confirmed 24 hours in advance.

Iceland (Pass by)
There is no fixed route on a private aurora hunt. Your guide checks cloud cover and aurora forecasts through the evening and drives to the darkest sky within reach: the countryside around Þingvellir, the shores of Hvalfjörður, or the coastline south of the city. At each viewpoint you stay exactly as long as your group wants, with camera help from your guide.

Clear nights are cold nights. While you wait for the lights, warm up with hot chocolate served beside the vehicle and review your first aurora photos with your guide.

Your private vehicle drops you back directly at your Reykjavík accommodation. Estimated return time is between 11PM and midnight, depending on aurora activity and your group's pace on the night. Door to door, start to finish.
