After registering at Marangu Gate, they will hike through lush tropical rainforest, surrounded by towering trees, unique vegetation, and birds. They may spot blue monkeys and black-and-white colobus monkeys along the trail. The hike continues to Mandara Hut, approximately 2,700 metres above sea level, where travelers can rest, enjoy lunch, and admire the mountain scenery. If time and weather permit, they can visit Maundi Crater for beautiful views. After exploring and taking photos, travelers descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate before returning to their hotel, if transfers are included. This experience offers a rewarding mountain adventure and a chance to explore Kilimanjaro's rainforest without a multi-day summit climb.
