It is the only classic Chinese garden in the downtown area and was originally built as a private garden for Ming Dynasty officials. Spanning around two hectares, the garden features winding pathways, traditional pavilions, ponds, and seasonal flora—offering a peaceful retreat from the city’s modern energy. Visitors can admire hundreds of historical plaques and inscriptions, along with intricate stone carvings (entry ticket required). Nearby, the lively Yuyuan Bazaar is a popular spot to explore local snacks, antiques, and souvenirs.
