1Huascaran National Park
Laguna Llaca is physically located within the territorial and legal limits of Huascarán National Park. For this reason, the park acts as a protective sanctuary, making official entry to the protected area the only possible way to reach it. During the journey and entry to Huascarán National Park towards Laguna Llaca, the landscape changes drastically from the traditional agricultural valleys to the imposing geography of the Andean high mountains.

You will pass through the populated centers of Marian and Cachipampa. You will see local cultivated fields where the community members work the land with traditional methods and graze livestock

2Laguna Llaca
Giant Granite Walls: Crossing the park gatehouse, the valley narrows notably. You will be surrounded by enormous vertical walls of granite rock, very famous worldwide because rock climbing is practiced there and numerous adventure routes are opened.

El Refugio Llaca (officially also known as Llaca Mountain Tourist Center) is located at 4,500 meters above sea level, just a 10-minute walk before reaching the lagoon. We will have a stop here for lunch.
