Head out onto frozen Lake Inari with a local guide who's spent decades reading these woods, waters, and winter skies — handling the snowmobiles and arctic conditions like a pro. You'll be kitted out in warm thermal clothing and travel across the ice in a heated sleigh, so you can relax and take in the views in comfort.

Lake Inari is one of the best places in Finnish Lapland to see the aurora: out in the middle of the lake, skies stay clearer than on the mainland, giving you an open 360° horizon. When the northern lights appear, you'll be standing right beneath them, ice and snow stretching out around you, forest silhouettes lining the distant shore.

On moonlit nights, even without the aurora, the frozen lake glows with a magic all its own. We may cross paths with other night travelers, but Lake Inari is vast — just as likely we'll find ourselves alone in the silence.
