    Agadir - Tiznit - Tafraoute

    You will be picked up from your accommodation in Agadir in the morning before beginning the journey south along the Atlantic coast toward Tiznit, a historic town famous for its traditional silver jewelry. After a short visit to the old medina, we continue inland toward the spectacular landscapes of the Anti-Atlas Mountains.

    The road winds through dramatic granite mountains and small Amazigh villages before reaching the charming town of Tafraoute, nestled in a valley surrounded by unique pink granite rock formations. Nearby you can also see the famous painted rocks, a striking art installation created by Belgian artist Jean Vérame.

    Tafraoute - Tata - Foum Zguid - Erg Chegaga

    After breakfast we continue our journey through the remote landscapes of southern Morocco, passing through small villages and oases on the way to the desert town of Tata. This region is known for its palm groves and ancient caravan routes that once connected Morocco with sub-Saharan Africa.

    After lunch we continue to Foum Zguid, the gateway to the Sahara.

    From here the paved road ends and we travel off-road across desert landscapes, dried lake beds and rocky plains to reach the vast dunes of Erg Chegaga, the largest and most remote sand dunes in Morocco. Upon arrival at the desert camp, you will enjoy a camel ride across the dunes and stop to watch the unforgettable sunset over the Sahara.

    In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner followed by Amazigh music around the campfire before spending the night in a luxury desert tent beneath the stars.

    Erg Chegaga - Tamegroute Pottery - Kasbah Tamnougalte - Agdz

    Erg Chigaga

    Early risers can wake up to watch the spectacular sunrise over the dunes before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Afterward we leave the desert and travel toward the lush Draa Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and historic kasbahs.

    Our first stop will be the village of Tamegroute, known for its traditional green pottery workshops where artisans continue centuries-old ceramic techniques. We will also visit the historic library containing ancient manuscripts.

    We then continue along the Draa Valley to visit the impressive Kasbah Tamnougalte, one of the oldest kasbahs in southern Morocco and once an important stop on the caravan trade routes.

    After breakfast we begin the journey back toward Agadir. Our first stop is the town of Tazenakht, famous throughout Morocco for its hand-woven carpets. Here you can visit local cooperatives and learn about the traditional weaving techniques.
