Our guide will meet travelers at Paro International Airport arrival area holding a sign with the traveler’s name. For travelers already staying in Paro, hotel pickup is available within Paro town only. Please share your flight details or hotel name at least 24 hours before the tour starts.
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where our guide will welcome you. Drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. On the way, enjoy scenic views of the Paro and Thimphu valleys. After checking in, visit the Buddha Dordenma statue, Memorial Chorten, and explore Thimphu town in the evening.
Itinerary Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s cultural and historical highlights. Visit the National Library, Institute for Zorig Chusum, Folk Heritage Museum, Takin Preserve, and Changangkha Lhakhang. Later, visit Tashichho Dzong, an impressive fortress and government complex.
Drive from Thimphu to Punakha through Dochula Pass, located at 3,100 meters. On clear days, enjoy views of the Himalayan mountain range. Visit the 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens before continuing to Punakha. After arrival, visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful fortresses, located between the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
Begin the day with a short hike through rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. Later, visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Bhutan. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon exploring the valley, local villages, and riverside scenery.
Drive to Phobjikha Valley, a peaceful glacial valley known for its natural beauty and traditional village life. Visit Gangtey Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in the region. Take a gentle walk along the Gangtey Nature Trail and enjoy the quiet landscapes of the valley.
After breakfast, drive back to Paro through scenic mountain roads and valleys. Upon arrival, visit Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum if time allows. In the evening, explore Paro town for souvenirs, local cafés, and a relaxed final night in Bhutan.
Early morning hike to Taktsang Monastery, popularly known as the Tiger’s Nest. This is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark, built on a cliffside above Paro Valley. After the hike, transfer to Paro International Airport for departure. Depending on flight timing, the hike may be adjusted or moved to Day 6.
