What to expect

Discover the real Osaka that most tourists never see — as family, you’ll explore a local market, cook in a home kitchen, and experience the food culture that locals actually live by.

Your adventure begins at Tenma Station, where we head into a maze of narrow back streets leading to one of Osaka’s most beloved local markets. Unlike tourist-facing markets, this is where real Osaka residents shop every day. You’ll be amazed by the colorful variety of fresh fish, seafood, and vegetables on display. Together we pick up the fresh ingredients for your sushi — straight from the market stalls.

After the market, we drive together through a real Osaka neighborhood to our bright home kitchen. Here, you’ll make your very own Osaka-style box sushi (hako-zushi) from scratch. Each person makes their own, using a traditional wooden mold in a technique that makes you feel like a proper Osaka chef.

Enjoy your freshly made sushi alongside a starter and miso soup, then whisk your own matcha latte with traditional tea tools — served with a Japanese sweet.

At the end, we’ll walk together past Umeda Sky Building and Umekita Park, all the way to Osaka Station — the perfect ending to a local Osaka day.
