A private, wheelchair-accessible day trip to Lake Kawaguchiko and Hakone with an English-speaking driver who holds a Japanese care-worker qualification. You stay in your own wheelchair the whole day: our lift-equipped van takes you from your hotel in Yokohama or Tokyo to the paved lakeside promenade at Kawaguchiko, a local soba lunch, the Hakone pirate ship, Hakone Shrine, a lakeside footbath and the old hot-spring town of Hakone-Yumoto. We have checked every stop for accessible restrooms, ramps and parking. On rainy days we skip the lake and spend the day in Hakone. Mt. Fuji is often hidden by clouds, so a view cannot be guaranteed.

We will pick you up at the pickup locations. The driver will be waiting for you in a vehicle bearing the BridgeMAIT logo.
Our office in Minami-ku, Yokohama. Almost all travelers are picked up at their hotel, port or airport, so you will normally not need to come here. Please choose your pickup location when booking.
Stroll the paved north-shore promenade of Lake Kawaguchiko in your wheelchair. If time allows, we also stop at Oishi Park, known for its flower gardens and lake views. Please note that Mt. Fuji is often hidden by clouds and a view cannot be guaranteed.
Lunch at Miyoshi Soba, a local soba restaurant in Hakone. There is a step at the entrance, which we bridge with our portable ramp, and you can dine at the table in your wheelchair. Lunch is at your own expense.
A short ride on the Hakone "pirate ship" from Hakone-machi Port to Moto-Hakone Port, about 10 minutes on the water. The ships have elevators and accessible restrooms. The fare is at your own expense; your driver meets you at Moto-Hakone with the vehicle.
We stop first at the lower car park with an accessible restroom, then drive up to the car park nearest the main hall. From there it is about 20 meters to the shrine grounds, and you can reach the main hall in your wheelchair. Time for a photo at the famous red torii gate on the lake if you wish.
Relax at the lakeside footbath at Bakery & Table Hakone, which can be used from your wheelchair, and enjoy the bakery cafe. The building has an elevator and an accessible restroom on the second floor. Food and drinks are at your own expense.
A leisurely stroll through the old hot-spring town: the bridge over the Haya River with a view of a traditional ryokan, the riverside walk and the souvenir shops along the main street.
