Kuksil Valley, situated near the Khunjerab Pass in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region, is renowned for its challenging climbing routes and remote alpine beauty. While it isn't a mainstream skiing destination, its high-altitude terrain and untouched snowfields present potential for backcountry ski touring for experienced adventurers. The valley features peaks such as Kuksil 5 (5,870 meters), visible from the Karakoram Highway en route to Khunjerab Pass. In 2011, a team led by Krzysztof Wielicki explored the area, including the Third Koksil Glacier and peaks like Jacky Chhish (5,717 meters), highlighting its appeal for mountaineering and potential for ski touring. Given its elevation and snow conditions, Kuksil Valley could offer opportunities for ski mountaineering. However, due to its remote location and lack of established ski infrastructure, it is best suited for seasoned backcountry skiers equipped for self-supported expeditions.
