Otavalo globally known for its famous indigenous markets. In the Plaza de los Ponchos, you can stroll through the vibrant stalls filled with colorful textiles, hats, bags, jewelry, and leather products, all handmade by local artisans. You’ll have time to interact with the vendors and buy unique souvenirs.
Located near Otavalo, the Peguche Waterfall is a beautiful natural and cultural attraction considered sacred by the Kichwa Otavalo community. Surrounded by native forests and peaceful trails, this impressive waterfall offers visitors a chance to enjoy nature, learn about local traditions, and experience the spiritual connection between the Andean people and their environment.
Upon arriving in Cotacachi and after enjoying a delicious lunch, we will head to the stunning Cuicocha Lagoon, located in the crater of an extinct volcano. This is the perfect spot to take a leisurely walk around the lake while enjoying panoramic views of the crater and the surrounding mountains. We also have the option to take a boat ride on the lake, offering a unique perspective of the landscape, or take a light hike around the lagoon, where we can admire the fascinating wildlife that inhabits the area. Please note that the entrance fee to the boat tour is not included.
