ISLAMABAD TO BATAKUNDI VIA KAGHAN & NARAN

Naran (Pass by)
Begin your Northern Pakistan road journey from Islamabad and travel north through the Hazara region via the Hazara Motorway and Mansehra Bypass toward Balakot, the scenic Kaghan Valley and Naran. Continue toward Batakundi through spectacular Himalayan scenery. Travel through the scenic Kaghan Valley to Naran, enjoying mountain rivers, forests, villages and dramatic Himalayan landscapes.

BATAKUNDI TO NALTAR VIA BABUSAR TOP & GILGIT

Babusar Pass
After breakfast, depart Batakundi and continue through Besar and Lulusar Lake toward Babusar Top when the route is open. Continue toward Gilgit and the Three Mountain Junction Point, with scenic stops and lunch around Juglot or Gilgit before continuing to Naltar Valley. Stop at Babusar Top for panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains before continuing toward Gilgit-Baltistan.

NALTAR VALLEY TO HUNZA VIA RAKAPOSHI

Travel from Naltar Valley toward Hunza along the historic Old Silk Route. Stop at Rakaposhi View Point before continuing to Karimabad, where you visit Baltit Fort and Altit Fort. Enjoy panoramic views of Rakaposhi, one of the most spectacular peaks in the Karakoram, from a scenic roadside viewpoint.

HUNZA TO KHUNJERAB PASS & PAKISTAN-CHINA BORDER

Depart early from Hunza and travel along the legendary Karakoram Highway toward Upper Hunza and Sost. See the Passu Cones before continuing to Khunjerab Check Post and the Pakistan-China border, subject to weather, road and border conditions. Return toward Hunza. Travel along the Karakoram Highway to Khunjerab Pass and experience the dramatic high-altitude Pakistan-China border landscape.

HUNZA TO RAKAPOSHI & GILGIT

Leave Hunza and travel toward Gilgit with scenic stops around Rakaposhi and Guroo.
