The meeting point is located at the entrance of Tal Barahi Temple and the main boating platform on Lakeside Pokhara . Located in the heart of Lakeside on the main street, it is easy to find and conveniently accessible from nearby hotels, restaurants, and shops.
We begin our morning at the Lakeside banks. We will board a traditional wooden boat (Doonga) for a peaceful row across Phewa Lake to the Tal Barahi Temple. Situated on a small island, this two-story pagoda is the most important religious monument in Pokhara. You’ll witness locals performing their morning puja (prayers) amidst the backdrop of the Annapurna range.
The Local Commute to Old Pokhara Experience the "real" Pokhara by hopping on a local bus heading north. This is where the tourist district fades away, and the historic city begins. It’s a great way to observe the daily hustle of the city's residents.
We arrive in the Old District to visit Bindhyabasini Temple, the guardian deity of Pokhara. Perched on a hill, this temple offers a stunning view of the Himalayas. Afterward, we will walk through the streets of Old Pokhara, admiring the ancient Newari-style brickwork and architecture that dates back over 200 years.
Local Food Tasting & Market Exploration No local experience is complete without the food! We will stop at cherished local stalls to sample authentic Nepali delicacies. You will try fresh Sel Roti (rice flour donuts), Jerry (sweet loops), or spicy Chatpate (savory snack mix). Afterward, we’ll navigate the Old Bazaar (Purano Bazar), a traditional trade hub where locals shop for spices, textiles, and daily goods.
