Set off on a one-of-a-kind adventure that blends kayaking, fresh seafood, and hands-on learning. You’ll depart from Red Head Harbour by kayak, paddling to a private, active oyster lease. Here you'll have a one-of-a-kind experience to paddle over and through the lease to experience first hand how oysters are farmed.
Guided by Jarrod Gunn McQuillan, the former oyster biologist for the province of PEI, you'll learn all about how oysters are farmed, harvested and how they make their way to your table. He's happy to answer all your oyster questions along the way.
Return to shore to learn to shuck harbour-side under the watchful eye of Jarrod. You'll get 6 choice oysters directly from the source.

What to expect
You’ll begin on shore with a safety briefing before getting equipped with your kayak and safety gear. From there, we'll depart the harbour and enter St. Peters Bay. Where you'll have the opportunity to paddle over an active oyster lease.
Along the way, you’ll learn about the local ecosystem and the oyster industry, having a chance to touch and see the oysters while they are being farmed in this active oyster aquaculture lease.
You’ll then land back at the harbour to shuck some of these beauties under the watchful eye and expert guidance of Jarrod. Pair it with some Maritime Madness hot sauce, lemons, or other toppings. Each participant gets to sample 6 choice oysters in this amazing harbour front setting.
This approximately 2-hour experience is hands-on, educational, and fully immersive—perfect for combining adventure, learning, and local flavors.
There is an amazing pizza place (Pie Oh My!) at the Red Head Harbour, which is perfect for lunch after your tour. This is a very popular food truck run by a red seal chef.
