  Kegon Falls

The bridge symbolizes the gateway to the spiritual world and is associated with legends of divine protection. Pedestrians must pay a small fee of ¥300 to cross the bridge, but the view and photo opportunities are well worth it.   Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura

  Optional stop: Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura is an immersive, 122-acre cultural theme park in Nikko, Japan, that meticulously recreates daily town life from the historic Edo period (1603–1867). The park serves as a living history museum where visitors walk among samurai residences, ninja training grounds, and bustling merchant streets, interacting with staff who are fully costumed and in character as period citizens.   Akechidaira Observation Area

  The Akechidaira Observation Deck is a premier panoramic vantage point in Nikko, perched at an altitude of 1,473 meters and famously known as the only spot where visitors can view Kegon Falls, Lake Chuzenji, and Mount Nantai simultaneously in a single frame. Located near the top of the ascending, one-way Irohazaka Winding Road, it is highly celebrated for its spectacular autumn foliage vistas. However, please note that the upper observation deck and its connecting ropeway are currently completely closed for a major infrastructure renovation project until approximately August 31, 2027, though the lower plateau base area remains open with a rest house and free parking.
