I can pick you up in San Martín de los Andes wherever works best for you. Then, we have about a 2-hour ride to the base of the volcano.

What to expect

Day 1: On this expedition to Lanín Volcano, you will meet your guide in San Martín de los Andes to review the itinerary, clear up any questions, and visit a specialized outdoor shop to fit and rent your technical gear(if needed).

Day 2: We will drive to the base of the volcano and begin hiking through a forest of lengas and coihues, navigating the high-mountain terrain up to the huts at 2,300 meters above sea level. There, you will receive hands-on training on essential mountaineering techniques—learning how to walk in crampons, use an ice axe, and practice self-arrest maneuvers on snow and ice. Overnight accommodation is in mountain domes shared with members of other expeditions.

Day 3: Summit day begins early—by 3:00 AM, we will already be on the move, ascending across snowfields and high-altitude slopes under the night sky. Applying your new skills under expert supervision, and only if weather allows, you will climb step-by-step to reach this iconic Patagonian summit at 3,776 meters above sea level. After celebrating your achievement and taking in the panoramic views, we will descend safely back to the base for your transfer back to San Martín de los Andes.
