We’ll be waiting for you in the hotel lobby at the agreed time. We’ll be holding a sign with your name on it, so you’ll be able to spot us easily.
In the morning, we’ll come to your hotel to pick you up. Dujiangyan is about 70 km from Chengdu, and the drive usually takes around 1.5 hours. Dujiangyan Irrigation System is one of China’s most remarkable ancient engineering achievements, with a history of over 2,000 years. Unlike a traditional dam, it was designed to control and distribute the river naturally, helping prevent floods while providing water for agriculture. It is still functioning today! During our visit, we’ll explore the main areas of the irrigation system, including Yuzui, Feishayan, and Baopingkou, and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Min River. It’s also a great place to learn a little about the history and wisdom behind this incredible ancient project.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit Mount Qingcheng, one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. Qingcheng Mountain is known for its beautiful green scenery, peaceful atmosphere, and rich Taoist culture. It is traditionally regarded as one of the birthplaces of Chinese Taoism, and you’ll find ancient temples, quiet paths, and beautiful mountain views throughout the area. Compared with some of China’s more crowded mountains, Qingcheng Mountain feels much more peaceful and refreshing, making it a lovely place to slow down and enjoy nature after visiting Dujiangyan in the morning.
