    Marrakech → Merzouga Desert

    Ait Ben Haddou

    Your private desert adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech. The drive to the Dades Valley takes approximately 7–8 hours in total, excluding sightseeing and meal breaks. Cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with approximately 2–3 hours of driving through mountain landscapes and time for photo stops. Continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Allow approximately 1.5–2 hours to explore the historic fortified village, with the option of arranging a local guide at an additional cost. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” The drive from Ait Ben Haddou takes approximately 30–45 minutes. You may stop for lunch in or near Ouarzazate

    Merzouga

    Continue through Tinghir, Erfoud and the Ziz Valley toward Merzouga. This section of the journey takes approximately 4–5 hours, excluding stops. You may stop for lunch along the way; lunch is not included unless specifically stated in your booking. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon. Depending on the season and your arrival time, enjoy a camel ride across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes lasting approximately 1–1.5 hours. Watch the breathtaking Sahara sunset before reaching your desert camp. At the camp, enjoy dinner, traditional Berber music and an evening under the stars. Dinner, overnight accommodation in the desert camp and the camel excursion are included when specified in the selected tour package. Breakfast at the camp is normally included the following morning, while drinks, snacks and personal expenses are generally excluded.

    Merzouga → Marrakech or Fes

    Wake up early to enjoy the spectacular Sahara sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, leave Merzouga by private vehicle. Option 1 — Merzouga → Fes Travel through the Ziz Valley, Midelt and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in the cedar forest near Azrou and continue through Ifrane before arriving in Fes in the evening. Option 2 — Merzouga → Marrakech if you want to return to Marrakech you will pay an additional 100 euro and you Travel back through the Ziz Valley, Erfoud, Todra and Dades valleys, Ouarzazate and the High Atlas Mountains before arriving in Marrakech in the evening. End of your private desert tour in Fes or Marrakech.
