On this tour you will visit the first murals painted by Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco as well as a monumental work by Siqueiros, and hidden gems by lesser known artists. With the help of an agile narrative, historical photographs and music, this journey will take you back in time to the turbulent 1920s and 1930s of post-revolutionary Mexico, when the country’s identity was forged under the heat of social struggles.
You can also observe these works integrated in the social world, experiencing the contact between art and work, in the Mercado Abelardo L. Rodríguez. Finally you will have the opportunity to enter a pulqueria, and try a tasting of pulque, alcoholic beverage of pre-Hispanic tradition. These places were frequented by muralists, where they relaxed and lived with the working class of Mexico City. Don’t miss the opportunity to live this experience!

    Cradle of the movement, we will admire the first mural painted by Diego Rivera, as well as the imposing works of José Clemente Orozco.

    Former building of the Ministry of Public Education, where Diego Rivera painted a huge expanse with various murals, highlighting the Corrido de la Revolución. We will also see Patricios y Patricidas, a huge mural of Siqueiros where the dynamism and expressive force of his painting is felt.

    Entering the bustle of the street stalls, we will arrive at the Mercado Abelardo, known for its dynamic commercial activity and the incredible murals it has, among which the first ones made by two women in the movement: the Greenwood sisters.
