In the morning, we visit Osaka Castle, a historic landmark with over 400 years of history, where you can feel its powerful energy. I will share with you the timeless charm and fascinating history of this beloved castle.
In the afternoon, we walk through the Tennoji area to Shitennoji Temple, one of the oldest temples in Japan, founded in 593. Before entering, we take a break at a nearby teahouse and enjoy traditional tea and sweets. (Included in the tour price.) Then we explore the peaceful temple grounds, where you’ll feel the deep spiritual atmosphere. You’ll also see the Golden Pavilion, home to the statues of the Four Heavenly Kings, and learn about the legacy of Prince Shotoku. It’s a calm and meaningful way to end your day in Osaka.

We’ll meet at Exit 9 of Tanimachi 4-chome Station and walk together to the main entrance of Osaka Castle Park, known as Otemon Gate. After passing through Otemon, we’ll visit Hokoku Shrine, dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and continue through Sakuramon Gate toward Osaka Castle. You’ll then climb to the top of the main tower and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Osaka—just as Toyotomi Hideyoshi might have seen it when he served as kampaku (imperial regent). Next, we’ll cross Gokurakubashi Bridge, pass through Aoyamon Gate, and take a peaceful stroll along the ginkgo tree-lined path leading to the fountain area. Throughout the walk, your guide will share stories about Osaka Castle’s 400-year history, architectural highlights, and fun historical trivia that bring the past vividly to life.
After exploring the vibrant Shinsekai district, we’ll walk through the Tennoji area and make our way to the historic Shitennoji Temple. Before entering, we’ll stop at a cozy teahouse for a short break. You can enjoy Japanese tea and sweets while relaxing in a peaceful setting. Shitennoji, founded by Prince Shotoku in 593, is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Japan. Though located in central Osaka, the temple feels far removed from the city’s noise. Its calm, sacred atmosphere holds centuries of history and quiet energy. Inside the Golden Pavilion (Kondo), you’ll see statues of the Four Heavenly Kings, powerful guardian deities. As we walk the grounds, you’ll hear the story of Prince Shotoku and feel the deep cultural and spiritual roots of this sacred site. It’s a serene and meaningful stop on your journey through Osaka.
