Experience Balos the way it deserves — with adventure, nature and freedom! Hop into a 4x4 Jeep and explore the wild landscapes of western Crete, with spectacular views over the lagoon and the Cretan Sea. Upon reaching the Balos area, you’ll follow a natural trail of moderate difficulty, taking about 1 hour in total (25 minutes downhill and 35 minutes uphill). The trail is part of the adventure and offers unforgettable views! You’ll have around 4 hours of free time in the area (1 hour in total for the trail), including approximately 3 hours of actual beach time to swim in the crystal-clear waters, explore the lagoon, relax and take photos. Along the way, you may encounter Crete’s wildlife, including wild goats and eagles, as well as bees and other local species. This is more than just a transfer to Balos — it’s an authentic Jeep adventure combining wild nature, breathtaking scenery and freedom.

Enjoy scenic views throughout the entire journey as we drive through the beautiful landscapes of western Crete. Along the way, you’ll also get a short introduction to some of the region’s traditional local products and specialties, giving you a taste of authentic Cretan culture. The drive from our office in Kissamos to the Balos parking area takes approximately 1 hour, with plenty of beautiful scenery along the route.
