Experience two distinct northern Tanzania landscapes over two days. In Tarangire, game drives unfold among ancient baobabs, seasonal wetlands and the Tarangire River, while the following day takes you onto the Ngorongoro Crater floor, where grassland, woodland and wetlands support abundant resident wildlife.
Travelling in a private 4x4 gives you the freedom to follow wildlife activity, linger at interesting sightings and experience each landscape at a considered pace with your driver-guide.

Explore Tarangire by private 4x4, following tracks through baobab woodland, open plains and seasonal wetlands shaped by the Tarangire River. The landscape supports elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebra, antelope, birdlife and a variety of predators. Your driver-guide follows the conditions of the day, allowing time to pause where wildlife activity unfolds. A picnic lunch is taken in the park before further game viewing and the onward journey to Karatu.
Follow the riverine landscape around the Tarangire River, an important source of water for the park’s wildlife, particularly during the dry season. Pause where activity unfolds naturally along the river and surrounding woodland.
Explore the margins of Silale Swamp, where broad wetlands meet woodland and open country. Water levels change with the seasons, shaping the movement of wildlife and creating rewarding habitat for birds.
Descend from the Ngorongoro highlands to the crater floor for a private game drive through open grassland, woodland and wetland habitats. The crater supports a high concentration of resident wildlife, including buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippo, hyena, lion and several antelope species. Your guide follows wildlife activity across the crater floor, with a picnic lunch taken within the conservation area before the ascent and return journey to Arusha.
Move through Lerai Forest, where acacia woodland provides a shaded contrast to the crater’s open grasslands. The forest forms part of the varied habitat explored during the crater game drive.
Cross the open crater floor towards Lake Magadi, a shallow soda lake surrounded by grassland. Its changing water levels contribute to the crater’s wetland habitat and seasonal birdlife.
