This guided tour takes guests to crime scenes, graves, and monuments linked to the darkest chapters of Atlanta's history. On this tour, we will explore some of Atlanta's most infamous murders and crimes, historic and contemporary, including solved and unsolved cases.
We will learn about the murder on the Coca-Cola heir's estate and the lynching of Leo Frank for the murder of Mary Phagan. We will discuss the serial killings of the Atlanta Ripper, Mrs. Bluebeard, and the Atlanta Child Murders. We cover the Courthouse Killer and the manhunt for the Olympic bomber. We break for refreshments at an unusually beloved local landmark, Murder Kroger.
Please be advised that we will be discussing uncomfortable topics. Yes, our stops are about murders. But we also be discuss racism and the racial policies that shaped Atlanta. When talking about how historic crimes were investigated and punished in an old Southern city, there is no way to speak honestly without considering racism's effects.

1Centennial Olympic Park
We meet at the Olympic Rings and discuss local history and details surrounding the 1996 Olympic bombing. We visit The Tribute to Olympism and Hellenism sculpture that shielded some visitors from the bomb blast in Centennial Olympic Park. There is still shrapnel embedded in the artwork.

We visit the Atlanta Children's Eternal Flame Memorial at City Hall that memorializes the 30 victims of the Atlanta Child Murders of 1979-1981. We discuss the known facts of the case, the cultural and political climate of the time, and evidence that arose decades later.

3Downtown Atlanta
We walk to the Fulton County Courthouse and discuss the Courthouse Killer and the curcumstances surrounting the 2005 spree killing.

4Westview Cemetery
We'll visit a magician/murderer's grave in Westview Cemetery and the murder's links to Coca-Cola heir Asa Candler, Jr. We also visit the Westview Abbey and Mausoleum, the largest structure of its kind in the world with room for 11,444 internments.
