Schlossstrasse 4, 3800 Interlaken. Look for our vehicle parked right in front of the building. If you're arriving by train, it's just a short walk from Interlaken Oststation.
High above Lake Thun, the Niederhorn offers one of the most sweeping panoramas in the Bernese Oberland. A short cable car ride takes you up to almost 2000 metres, where the view stretches across the lake all the way to the snow capped peaks beyond. There's a restaurant at the top if you'd like a coffee, and a few short walking trails if you feel like stretching your legs before heading back down
Right on the shores of Lake Thun, the St. Beatus Caves are a network of ancient limestone caverns named after a hermit said to have lived here centuries ago. A short, scenic walk along the cliffside leads to the entrance, past a small waterfall, before you head into the illuminated tunnels and chambers carved out over thousands of years
Inside the mountain above Lauterbrunnen, the Trümmelbach Falls are a series of ten waterfalls carved directly into the rock by glacier meltwater from the Jungfrau massive. A short funicular ride takes you up, and a walkway with tunnels leads past several of the falls, the sound and spray growing more powerful the further up you go.
Lauterbrunnen sits at the base of one of the most dramatic valleys in Switzerland, with sheer cliffs rising on both sides and waterfalls cascading down, including the famous Staubbach Falls right above the village. We'll take a relaxed lunch break here, with plenty of restaurants to choose from, and time for a short stroll through the village before continuing.
From Grindelwald, a charming alpine village with the Eiger rising directly behind it, we can also take a quick cable car up to Pfingstegg, just a few minutes away. If you're up for a bit of fun, there's a long toboggan run and a zipline up there, a nice contrast to the quieter, scenic stops earlier in the day.
Iseltwald is a small, postcard-perfect village right on the shores of Lake Brienz, with the lake's turquoise water and the surrounding mountains as a backdrop. Its little wooden pier has become quite famous in recent years, a relaxed final stop for a short walk and a few photos before we head back to Interlaken.
