Meeting and pickup
The tour ends at Shinjuku Station. If you are continuing to Tokyo Station, you may stay in the same Green Car after Sho gets off at Shinjuku, so you do not need to change trains. Before boarding, Sho will ask where you plan to get off and help you purchase the correct Green Car ticket.

Departure from Tokyo Station is also available. This meeting point is convenient for families staying near Tokyo Station, Marunouchi, Otemachi, Nihonbashi, Ginza, and other major central Tokyo areas. There is no need to travel to Shinjuku before the tour. Your family can meet Sho at Tokyo Station and board the JR Chuo Line Green Car together. This reduces morning travel and transfers, making it easier for families with young children or strollers to begin the journey to western Tokyo comfortably.

The standard meeting point is Shinjuku Station. Meet Samurai Guide Sho, who served as a JR Chuo Line conductor for 22 years, and begin your journey with support for tickets, Suica, ticket gates, elevators, transfers, and boarding positions. From the beginning, your family can leave Tokyo’s train travel to a former conductor, even when traveling with children and strollers. From Shinjuku, leave the crowded city center and travel toward Western Tokyo, where local families spend their days off.

Travel by JR Chuo Line Green Car (premium seating) to a park in western Tokyo, leaving the sightseeing districts behind and easing into a slower side of the city. Before boarding, Sho can help your family buy bento boxes, rice balls, snacks, and drinks to enjoy on the train. At the park, children can explore age-appropriate playgrounds, including areas for younger kids, open lawns, family cycling, boats, the Park Train, seasonal scenery, and places to eat. Sho guides you along stroller-friendly routes and points out toilets, diaper-changing facilities, and rest areas. Rather than rushing to fit everything in, the day is shaped around your children’s energy, interests, and mood, at an easy pace. It is a chance to spend the day the way a local Tokyo family might enjoy a day off. After the park, relax together on the Green Car back toward central Tokyo. The tour ends at Shinjuku Station, and families continuing to Tokyo Station can remain in the same Green Car after Sho gets off.

- To give you a genuine sense of the park, all park photos shown were taken at the actual park visited on this tour.
- For round-trip transportation, it is best to have about ¥3,500 per adult and ¥2,500 per child age 6–11 loaded onto each Suica or PASMO card. Children age 5 and under generally travel free.
- Please bring a physical Suica or PASMO card for a smoother Green Car experience. If you are not sure how to charge it, please bring cash on the day and I will help you.
- Bicycle rental, boating, and the Park Train are included in the tour price. Activities are selected according to your family’s interests, children’s age and energy level, weather, crowds, and facility availability. Some activities may not be available due to weather, crowd conditions, operating schedules, safety reasons, age restrictions, or other activity requirements.
- Travel both ways aboard the JR Chuo Line Green Car (premium seating). Spacious seats, a restroom, and trash bins make the journey calmer for families with children and strollers. Bring bento, snacks, and drinks purchased before boarding to enjoy at your seats. Power outlets are available, so you can charge your phone if you bring a charger, while watching the scenery change together. On the return trip, it becomes a traffic-free “moving lounge” where tired children can sit back and rest.
- The day may be adjusted to suit the weather, crowds, opening hours, and your children’s condition and family’s pace.
- The tour may include playgrounds, cycling, and boating. Sho will guide with care, but parents or guardians must remain with their children and supervise their health and safety.
- Reasonable care will be taken for safety, but the organizer cannot accept responsibility for illness, injuries during normal activities, or loss or damage to personal belongings. Please keep valuables with you.
