Hi, I’m Stephen. My tours are personal - your group will not be sharing with others. I will be your driver and guide for the day - I will collect you in our luxury Land Rover Defender 130 - Britain’s answer to the Chevy Suburban.

My aim is to give you all the background and history you need to enjoy the day. As it’s a private tour we can be flexible - if you want to stay longer or divert to see something else, no problem.

I am new to Viator so I don’t have many reviews but i’ve been a guide for many years. You won’t be disappointed!

We begin with a guided walking tour in Canterbury, where you’ll admire the iconic Canterbury Cathedral and charming medieval architecture.

Next, visit Dover Castle, where you can discover the castle's history and breathtaking views of the White Cliffs of Dover. Entry fees to Dover Castle are INCLUDED,

Finally we will explore some of Kent's most beautiful villages

We can have some 'pub grub and a pint' at an old pub or at one of the location cafes.

    Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Cathedral is the cathedral of the archbishop of Canterbury, the spiritual leader of the Church of England and symbolic leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Located in Canterbury, Kent, it is on the site of one of the oldest Christian structures in England and forms part of a World Heritage Site. There will be time for you to do a tour of the Cathedral. A tour of Canterbury Cathedral is optional and not included but we can pre-book this for you by arrangement.

    Chilham Village

I've lived in Kent, often referred to as 'The Garden of England', most of my life. Around Canterbury are some of the most beautiful and scenic Kent villages, often dating back over 1000 years. Although Canterbury and Dover Castle are all stunning, my clients always love these beautiful villages so often overlooked by travellers. It doesn't take much time to detour and immerse yourself in the deep history of this part of England going back over 1000 years - how people used to live, where they came from and how the villages still thrive today. Godmersham, Elham and Chilham are just a few examples and I would love to take you there. They feature beautiful village squares, ancient timber framed houses and lots of local shops, pubs and churches.

I love a good old English pub. There is nothing better than 'a pint and some pub grub' in the beautiful surroundings of an ancient pub. Most are steeped in history going back 500+ years from the days when a coach and horses was the main form of travel and the pub was often the overnight stay on long journeys and the pub was the centre of most communities. I'm happy to add a quick pub lunch to your itinerary - it doesn't need to take much time and the food is not as bad as you sometimes hear! I find my clients love this excursion. I will work with you to choose a delightful pub - although The White Horse is one of my favourites, there are so many avaialable.

    Dover Castle

Dover Castle was founded in the 11th century by Henry II on the site of a Norman fortification built by William the Conquerer in 1066. Often referred to as the ‘Key to England’ due to its strategic location as the closest point to mainland Europe and France. We will tour the castle, the keep and learn about the castles role in the Dunkirk rescue of 1940. The access fee to Dover Castle is INCLUDED.
