And at the end of the experience, we return to Melanes Café, where you can relax and enjoy a delicious meal prepared with fresh local ingredients and, most importantly, with a lot of love and care for our guests.

Meet the art of traditional pottery

2Chalkio
In the beautiful village of Chalki, we take a relaxed walk through the charming narrow streets and discover the local character of Naxos. We visit a traditional weaving workshop, where you can see an authentic wooden loom and learn about the old Naxian tradition of hand weaving, a craft traditionally passed down from mother to daughter. We then enjoy a local tasting experience, discovering some of the island’s traditional flavors and products. This is a chance to taste Naxos rather than simply see it, while learning about the local ingredients, traditions and way of life. There is also time to explore Chalki at a leisurely pace, admire its beautiful Venetian architecture and enjoy the atmosphere of this historic village. It’s a small but authentic glimpse into the traditions, flavors and everyday life of Naxos.

3Melanes Kouros Statue
You will meet the famous “Kouros of Flerio”. From there , we’ll enjoy a scenic walk through nature to reach this remarkable ancient statue.

5Melanes
In the village of Melanes, we will take a relaxed walk through the traditional village and discover its authentic local character. You will have the chance to see the beautiful gardens and small farms around the village, where many of the fresh ingredients used in local cooking are grown. Depending on the season, we may even pick some fresh vegetables together from the garden. Later, you will enjoy some of these fresh, local ingredients as part of your meal at Melanes Café — bringing a true taste of the village from the garden straight to your table.
