This private guided coastal hike explores some of the most scenic sections of East Sooke Regional Park, following the rugged coastline out to the historic Trap Shack and back. Along the way, your guide will take you to favourite viewpoints and lookout areas, with opportunities to spot bald eagles, whales and other coastal wildlife.

The approximately 10 km round-trip route combines forest trails, rocky coastal terrain and spectacular views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. With a private guide, the pace can be adjusted to your group, with time for photos, viewpoints and stops along the way.

Your guide will also share stories about the area’s local history and insights into traditional Indigenous ways of living, travelling and making use of the surrounding land and coastline.

The full route is best suited to guests with moderate hiking ability who are comfortable covering 10 km of varied coastal terrain. Shorter routes can be accommodated when needed.

Guests will experience changing coastal terrain, rocky sections and forest trails, with time for photos and scenic stops along the way. The full route is best suited to those with moderate hiking experience and a reasonable level of fitness. Wildlife sightings are possible but never guaranteed.
