Drive your own snowmobile through the dark Arctic wilderness on this 5-hour small-group evening safari from Rovaniemi, and look for the Northern Lights far from the city lights. Groups are limited to 8 travelers, so your English-speaking guide has time for everyone, from first-time drivers to experienced riders. You get 2 to 3 hours of actual driving on quiet forest trails and over frozen lakes, lit only by your headlights and the starry sky. Two adults share one snowmobile and can swap driving halfway; young children ride in a covered sled towed by the guide. All warm winter clothing, boots, gloves and a helmet are included, and we pick you up from your accommodation in Rovaniemi at around 18:00. Along the way your guide stops so you can switch off the engines, enjoy the silence and watch the sky. We also stop by a wilderness campfire for hot drinks and a light snack. Meeting and pickup
We pick you up from your accommodation within 10 km of Rovaniemi city centre. Pickup is at around 18:00 and your exact pickup time is confirmed by message the day before. After a safety briefing at the snowmobile base, you drive your own snowmobile for 2 to 3 hours along dark forest trails and over frozen lakes in the Arctic wilderness. The guide stops so you can switch off the engines, look up at the sky and watch for the Northern Lights. You warm up with hot drinks and a light snack by a wilderness campfire.
