[Volcanoes, Shrines & Myths – A Kyushu Day Trip]
Explore where nature and legend meet in Kyushu.

Mt. Aso Crater
One of the world’s largest active volcanoes, often seen as the Earth’s heartbeat.
Its vast crater and rising steam create a powerful prehistoric landscape, showcasing Japan’s “Land of Fire.”

Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine
Hidden in deep forest, this sacred shrine is reached by stone steps lined with lanterns and cedar trees.
Often called a real-life “Spirited Away” setting and linked to Hotarubi no Mori e, it offers a mystical, quiet atmosphere.

Takachiho Gorge
A legendary site tied to the myth of the sun goddess Amaterasu.
Formed by volcanic cliffs and a waterfall like a thread of light, it is a place of natural beauty and calm reflection.

A journey through volcanoes, shrines, and myths—
more than sightseeing, it is an encounter with Kyushu’s spirit.
