Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Meet your guide and travel by comfortable transportation toward the Ausangate region, enjoying beautiful views of the Andean countryside along the way.
Travel approximately 105 km (65 miles) southeast to the traditional village of Pacchanta, located at the foot of Ausangate Mountain. Upon arrival, enjoy a hearty local breakfast while your guide provides an introduction to the hike, altitude recommendations, and the day's itinerary.
Begin your guided hike through one of the most spectacular alpine landscapes in Peru. Follow mountain trails at elevations between 4,300 and 4,700 meters (14,108–15,420 ft) while visiting the famous Seven Ausangate Lakes, including Azul Cocha, Pucacocha, Alqacocha, Otorongo, and the remaining glacial lagoons. Along the route, admire breathtaking views of Ausangate Mountain, observe llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and native birds, and learn about the region's ecology and Andean traditions.
After completing the hike, return to Pacchanta and enjoy free time to relax in its natural hot springs (entrance fee not included). Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, these thermal waters offer the perfect opportunity to unwind after the trek.
