See Suzhou change character in a single day—from the contemporary skyline and open waterfront of Jinji Lake to the stone bridges, narrow canals, and traditional waterside life of Luzhi. Rather than rushing through a checklist of sights, this tour lets you experience the city through contrast: modern architecture and public art, local Suzhou-style noodles, then a traditional hand-rowed boat ride through an old water town.
The experience continues after many water-town day trips have left. Enjoy a seasonal local dinner, see Luzhi light up after dark, and end with the scheduled evening performance. With time for photography and independent exploration, it is especially suited to first-time visitors, culture lovers, photographers, and food-focused travelers.

Meeting and pickup
Meet your guide at the Jinji Lake Scenic Area West Visitor Centre. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before departure. Your guide will be waiting near the visitor centre entrance, holding a company sign for easy identification.

Begin with a relaxed walk along Jinji Lake and discover Suzhou’s contemporary side. See modern architecture, public art, the Suzhou Eye, and the Eslite area while your bilingual guide explains how this waterfront district developed. There is also time to pause for photos and explore at an unhurried pace.

2Luzhi Ancient Town
Explore Luzhi’s canals, historic bridges, stone lanes, and waterside homes with your guide before boarding a traditional hand-rowed boat for a different view of the town. After the boat ride, enjoy free time for photography and independent exploration, followed by a seasonal Suzhou-style dinner. Stay into the evening as the canals light up and attend the scheduled night performance before returning.
