With a background in management and education, I bring a thoughtful and well-researched approach to guiding. Rediscovering my fascination with Singapore inspired me to become a licensed Tourist Guide and share the story of how this small island nation has evolved into a highly planned, liveable and sustainable city.
Through my tours of the Singapore City Gallery and Marina Barrage, I explore the thinking and planning behind Singapore’s remarkable transformation. I share stories about urban development, land use, water security, sustainability and the challenges Singapore has overcome as a city with limited land and resources.
My aim is not simply to show visitors interesting places, but to help them understand the ideas, decisions and innovations that have shaped Singapore. I strive to make each tour informative, engaging and enjoyable, giving visitors a deeper appreciation of how Singapore continues to plan for its future.
Meet at the entrance of URA Centre. Look for a bearded guide wearing a turban.
This tour ends at the Gardens by the Bay MRT Station Exit 1.
At the Singapore City Gallery, I’ll be sharing with you how Singapore has developed from a small developing country into a well-planned, liveable and sustainable city. As we go through the gallery, you’ll see interactive exhibits, models and displays that explain how Singapore manages challenges such as limited land and resources. I’ll also show you how Singapore plans its neighbourhoods, protects its heritage, designs its urban spaces and prepares for the future. One of the highlights is the projection-mapping show, which gives us a visual look at Singapore’s development, planning strategies and famous landmarks. So, let’s explore the gallery together and discover how Singapore’s past, present and future are carefully planned.
At the Marina Barrage, I’ll show you how Marina Barrage plays an important role in Singapore’s water supply, flood control and recreation. You’ll get to see the beautiful Marina Reservoir and the Singapore skyline, and we’ll also learn how this area has been transformed into a popular place for leisure activities. We’ll then spend about one hour exploring the Sustainable Singapore Gallery. Here, through interactive exhibits and displays, you’ll learn about Singapore’s efforts to become a more sustainable city. This includes topics such as water conservation, climate change, renewable energy, waste management and sustainable living. Through the exhibits, we’ll see how Singapore manages its limited resources and works towards a greener future. By the end of the tour, you’ll have a better understanding of how Marina Barrage and Singapore’s sustainability efforts contribute to creating a cleaner, greener and more liveable city.
