Celebrate Nilsson is an intimate concert portrait of Harry Nilsson - his songs, that voice, the strange and funny stories, and the music he never took on the road - presented and performed by Ernie Savage, who knew him in Nyack, New York. One performer, on piano, guitar and voice.
Harry never toured. His songs have lived on records for over fifty years, and almost no one has heard them performed live. This show presents them in their original singer/songwriter form: one artist, one room, with you and your guests looking on.
Ernie Savage is a New York-based singer/songwriter and television composer with credits for NBC, PBS and Nickelodeon, and more than 35 years performing in Manhattan's storied rooms. This is the only Harry Nilsson show built on firsthand accounts.

Please ring for Michiko Studios to enter the building and take elevator to 7th floor. The host will meet the guest at the studio lobby and escort the group into the studio at the scheduled start time.
What to expect
Over the next hour, Ernie Savage performs the music of Harry Nilsson - the two-time Grammy winner behind "Without You," "Everybody's Talkin'," and "Coconut," famously named by the Beatles as their favorite American artist.
Ernie knew Harry. They met when Ernie was nineteen, through his uncle's restaurant in Nyack, New York, where Harry had become a regular; Harry drove him around town listening to his demo tapes and told him, "You have a voice not unlike my own in my younger days." The stories in this show are firsthand.
The show reaches beyond the hits, into what Ernie calls the heart of Harry: the tender, funny, and heartbreaking songs from the far reaches of the Nilsson catalog that almost no one has heard performed live, because Harry himself never toured. Between songs Ernie shares the stories — the life behind the voice, the Lennon friendship, the legendary sessions - moving between piano and guitar as the material calls for it.
The show closes with conversation, questions, and requests. You'll leave humming something Harry wrote fifty years ago, as if you'd just met him.
